The web site of Arab women and Media is an electronic interactive space which came to cope with the rapid transformations witnessed by the image of women and enrich dialogue and debate on the theme of women and media.
The site represents one of the components of the Gender and Arab Media Program which The Centre for Arab Women Training and Research “CAWTAR” and the United Nations Development Fund for Women "UNIFEM" has worked to establish since 2004, with the support of the Arab Gulf Program for United Nations Development Organizations.
the launching of the web site came in response to the recommendations of the Arab Women Development Report issued in 2006 by “CAWTAR” and “UNIFEM” on ”Arab Women and Media: analytic study of researches published between 1995 and 2005.”
Published in 2009 under the
second phase of the Program of Gender and Arab media. It draws on the
most important findings of the three reports of Arab Women Development
"Arab Women and Media: an Analytical Study of Researches published
between 1995 and 2005" based on the conclusions and major
recommendations that emerged from various conferences, research efforts
and related initiatives in the Arab region

contains four scientific papers on issues related to aspects of the interaction
of Arab women with information and communication technology and the utilization
of digital technology and interactive communication, especially the Internet.
